Steeped in Happiness Raindrop Card

Hello again my crafty friend. It’s time for the new release from The Rabbit Hole Designs and for today’s inspiration hop, we’re sharing projects made with the Steeped in Happiness stamp set. Not only does it have an adorable teapot with teacups stacked precariously on top, but it’s full of sweet sentiments.

I’ve been dying to try a raindrop card, where beads slide down on clear thread. This image seemed like a perfect choice for one since it has tea dripping from the cups.

To make this card, I stamped, colored and fussy cut the image with my ScanNCut (cutting off the drips). I die cut a scalloped rectangle, then turned it into a frame, by die cutting a rectangle from the center. I folded a small doily over the edge of a strip of green cardstock, then glued it to the back of the frame to create a table. Next, I glued the image to the table.

To add the beads, I added a single layer of foam tape behind the frame, table, and teapot image. I strung some bronze seed beads onto clear thread, then attached the ends to the foam tape on the back. I added a second layer of foam tape all the way around and adhered it to a card base with a green ink blended center. Some Liquid Pixie Dust and Diamond Glaze add shine to the teapot and cups. A few bronze flat backed gems and an embossed sentiment banner finish the card.

Note: you might want to make sure to leave gaps in your foam tape so the beads can disappear behind your pieces. I did this at the bottom, but not at the top.

So what do you think? Have you ever made a raindrop card before? I can’t wait to see what you’ll make with the new Steeped in Happiness set. For more inspiration, hop along with us and enter for your chance to win!
