Catherine Pooler Designs x Pear Blossom Press Collab

Welcome to the Catherine Pooler Designs x Pear Blossom Press Collab Hop! We’re sharing fun, interactive cards to brighten your day! They feature awesome new stamps and dies from Catherine Pooler Designs, and with help from our EZ-Lights and Halo Lights, they all really light up!  Be sure to hop along for loads of inspiration; our designers have come up with some brilliant cards.

We’re so excited to have our guest, Mona Toth, inspiring you with a beautiful rainbow light-up card today, using our EZ-Lights and vibrant Catherine Pooler Inks! Isn’t it gorgeous? She’ll walk you through the process below.

THIS PROJECT FEATURES

I started the cardmaking with stamping the images from the Bright Days Stamp Set with watermark ink to a lightweight copy paper. Then I heat embossed it with white detailed embossing powder. After this process I made a rainbow ink blending with only three Catherine Pooler Ink Pads. I have used Cummerbund (my favorite inkpad color ever), Pucker Up from the Party Collection, and Lemongrass from the Spa Collection. I love the brightness so much!

Next, I repeated the same process once more, this time with gold embossing powder, but on Bristol Smooth cardstock. I added one more inkpad color to the blending process, the color Catching Rays. This time I die-cut the images with the Bright Days Coordinating Dies, because I don’t need them.

When it was done, I adhered a piece of vellum to the back of my blended card front and I added white and gold dots and crosses with white and gold Essential Gel Pens to bring that magic effect.

Next, I adhered the lightweight ink blended background inside my card and added two EZ-Lights to its right place as well. I put on the bulbs some heart embellishments so when someone will light up the card, dark heart shapes will show up.

After this process I adhered the LED lights inside the bulbs with glossy accents. I have also fixed the wires and the switch with the best craft tape.

I have adhered 5mm wide and 3mm Deep Foam Tape to my card. NOTE: this is the perfect 3D adhesive for light up cards, you don’t need to double it, and that’s cool.

Next, I stamped the lamp cables from the Bright Days Stamp Set with watermark ink, and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I wanted to keep the coloring simple, so I just stamped them with Sand Castle Ink inside its lid, and took the color with Tombow Blender Pen to color them.

Then I stamped the sentiment from the Bright Days Stamp Set and the PUSH HERE notes with the Interactively Yours Stamp Set to a piece of vellum with watermark ink, and I heat embossed them with gold embossing powder.

In the end I just removed the parchment papers from the adhesive, and put my card together. Thank you very much for reading through my post, I hope that you have enjoyed it and I have inspired you! If you want to see more colorful happy cards visit my Instagram.
