Rainbow Christmas Collection

It’s day 3 of the new release celebration from The Rabbit Hole Designs, and today we’re playing with the Candy Twist die and Slice of Christmas stencil. I stenciled a quick card, and die cut a fun tag for this rainbow Christmas collection.

Let’s start with the card. I cut a circle from masking paper and masked off the background of my panel. Using one of the large Cotton Tail blending brushes, I lightly stenciled Speckled Egg ink into the circle. I used the Slice of Christmas stencil to create the ground, then I removed the mask and stenciled on the shorter tree, using a rainbow of ink and smaller blending brushes. To add a little texture to the background, I embossed a few stars from the Christmas Frost stamp set. I also embossed a sentiment from the same set onto black cardstock and cut it out with a fishtail banner

To pull the card together, I trimmed my panel down and added a strip of washi tape under the circle. I added another strip of washi tape down the left side of a card base, then popped the panel up with fun foam. I attached the sentiment banner with foam tape. For sparkle, I glued on some rainbow gems. This card would be easy to mass produce, and you can change your ink colors to match whatever washi tape you have in your stash.

For the tag, I die cut the Candy Twist from white cardstock. I popped the little segments out onto purple tape to hold them in place while I colored them with markers. I placed a little Scotch tape on the back of the candy twist outline and stuck the segments back in place. I trimmed a scrap of cardstock to 2″ x 4 7/8″ and clipped the top corners off to create the base of the tag. Using Speckled Egg ink again, I shaded the edges and stamped TO and FROM on the back. A strip of silver glitter washi tape along one side added more interest to the front. Next, I popped the candy twist up on the tag with foam tape and glued on some rainbow gems. To finish it off, I punched a hole at the top of the tag and tied on some coordinating ribbon. This tag would dress up any package. It would work for Christmas or a special birthday present.

  2. For me the tag is the big deal with the popped out die pieces colored!! Can’t wait to give THAT a whirl…maybe even emboss or glitter the pieces for those of us with sparkle fever? As always, cards are beautifully colored…but I SO appreciate the method sharing all around!!

  3. These are so pretty and I love all the color! I think I need that circle swirl in my life!
