Sentiment Spotlight

If you’ve seen the Butterfly Kiss Stamp Set, you know there is a sweet little bunny kissing a butterfly. It’s so adorable! But there is also a beautiful sentiment that I really wanted to use for the focal point of a card. With that in mind, I decided to create a tone-on-tone stenciled background so the sentiment would really stand out, and not compete for attention.

I started by ink blending several shades of blue onto a white panel with large brushes. (If you need blending brushes, definitely grab them now; they are marked way down!) Next, I held the Butterfly Stencil in place, and blended the darker blue inks through. After trimming the panel to 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4,” I heat embossed the sentiment and the smaller butterflies with white powder. By mounting the panel on a bright white card base with foam tape, the sentiment really pops. A few round and heart shaped gems, along with a coat of shimmer pen on the wings, add sparkle and finish the card. Isn’t it lovely? It was so easy to make too!
